Guide To Coloured Frames For Different Complexions

by carnaval on Jul.14, 2010, under Fashion Shoes

There are a huge number of people who wear glasses in the UK and abroad, and whilst for some they remain a necessity, for many they’re an in-style fashion accessory. With the summer now here, lots of people are looking for the right look, and your choice of glasses and frame can play a bit part in that.

With that in mind, here’s a quick guide to the different colours of prescription glasses and frames available to buy, to suit your complexion.

Blue: blue is a good choice for people with very dark complexions; if you have red hair, go for a light blue with thin frames. Oakley sunglasses make some fantastic coloured frames, so check them out for some gorgeous blue shades.

Purple: and light purples will work nicely with light complexions;. Darker shades of purple are more suited to those with dark hair.

Orange or Yellow: these colours can be tough as they tend to clash with lots of complexions. Probably best to avoid these colours if you’re unsure, although if you do want to go with them they tend to work best with very dark complexions.

Red: red is a great colour for standing out and making a statement. Red heads should avoid dark reds as these will generally clash with their skin tone; if you are a read head and want to try red frames, aim for a lighter ‘tomato’ kind of red. If you have a pale complexion with reasonably dark hair, you should be going for one of the strong ruby reds, as the contrast will work perfectly. Those with a light complexion and light hair should aim for a much softer red, along the lines of watermelon or a pinkish tone.

Green: the absolute best colour for those with red hair, greens work especially well against red (particularly racing green). If you have a darker complexion, try a deep lime or teal shade of green. Those with lighter complexions should opt for a peppermint shade, as they should be staying away from the darker colours in general.

Pink: pink is a great colour for standing out; the dark pink frames look great on those with a dark complexion, whilst those with lighter complexions should aim for a very light baby-pink to full complement their complexion.
