Despite using the same hair styling routine every day for years, there are some times when a women just can’t make her hair style properly.  Mornings like this are extremely aggravating and can through off your whole morning routine.
Ever been this woman?  Not anymore! There are several easy and inexpensive precautions you can take to ensure that every day is a good hair day and you never again have to leave the house in a sloppy pony tail or old hat.

The first part of the preparation should be more than just a “step,” it should be a routine.  Always, always wash your hair with a quality shampoo.  There are shampoos available for thick hair, thin hair, curly hair, color treated hair and many more.  You should never struggle to find a shampoo that is right for your hair.

In addition, be sure that you use are using an appropriate conditioning technique.  You can use a conditioner that must be washed out immediately or a conditioner in the form of a spray that you leave in the hair.  It’s also important to consider using a thermal protection product if you regularly use heated styling tools like curling irons, hair dryers or hair straighteners.

When you dry your hair, don’t forget that this is an important step in the styling process.  The methond you use to dry your hair can have a significant impact on the style and look of your hair for the rest of the day.  To add volume, flip your head upside down and dry your hair starting at the nape of your neck and working you way outward with a brush.
For a super sleek and straight finish, part the hair and hold the dryer above the hair pointing straight down.  Use a flat brush to pull the hair from root to tip as your follow it with the heat of the dryer.  If you have naturally curly or wavy hair, consider using a diffuser to prevent any poofiness or frizziness.

After you dry your hair, use the “cool shot” on your hair dryer, if available.  This is the best way to finish the drying process and set the style.

This is an appropriate time to use your thermal protection product if you will use a heated styling tool.

Whether you are straightening or curling the hair, work section by section, spraying each part with a styling spray before you apply the heat.  When you’re done, it’s important not to use a brush again.  This will remove any shine and style you just put into the hair!  If you need to, use a wide tooth comb or your fingers to gently untangle the hair or pull apart your curls.

If you curled your hair, brushing it will drag out the curls and leave your hair poofy rather than nicely curled.  If you straightened your hair, brushing could take away from the sleekness you worked so hard to achieve, as well as lead to static electricity.

Don’t forget how important your hair can be to your look and overall style.  Use the proper styling tools and products, as well as the proper styling techniques each time you work with your hair.
